Tutorial: Braided Fringe

This is the look that was worn in my Vlog #3 on youtube (I don't post vlogs on blogspot, I feel like it's a waste of space) inspired by Sandara, Jessica, Tiffany, Taeyeon, Yoona, Chaeyeon, and Binosusume. I was not innitially planning on making a tutorial for this, but it has been highly requested so here it is.

The long intro in the beginning was my attemp to clarify how to construct the braid. It is a little tricky on the hands to begin with, so definitely try it out on the longer sections of your hair first like I demonstrated. I hope I made my instructions clear, let me know if you guys have any questions and such.

You can alter the size of the braids and sections added to thicken or thin out the braid and you can even go ahead and curl your hair for extra glam. Hahaha I totally take advantage of any chance to selca I swear. I honestly make myself write more just to fill up the empty gaps between my mass picture spams. Ughhh, I dyed my hair brown but it only shows up in certain lighting and only in a limited number of pictures =(

And I'm sorry to have mislead you guys with my last post. I didn't actually cut my hair short. I just pinned it back. Never trust my pictures I say, I always cheat to shorten and lengthen my hair. Also, this curled hair pictures is from a while back so the braids and everything may look a little different.

Give All My Secrets Away

So I’ve been receiving a lot of comments and messages asking about how to make eyes appear bigger. I’ll confess, I only have average sized, moon crescent eyes. And my greatest kept secret is circle lenses. They are getting more and more popular now a days as word gets around, and really, I feel lack luster without wearing mine. I’d honestly rather go out without makeup.

Here’s a whole batch of selcas showing how my Geo Nudy Greens look on. I really love these because in normal indoor lighting they appear dark, but in bright sunlight or in pictures with flash, they really stand out. Second set of pictures shows before (left) and after (right) effects of wearing circle lenses for comparison.

I got my lenses from LensCircle.Com and I totally recommend this site because they sell authentic lenses at reasonable prices. If you google around, you may find other places that seemingly sell for cheaper, but some sellers actually advertise as price per single lens. Ridiculous but true. While other sellers do not provide the same authenticity check sticker that LensCircle.Com does.

For my blog followers and youtube subscribers LensCircle is offering a 10% DISCOUNT on all orders! But this won’t last long and is only for a certain amount of orders so definitely do take advantage of this offer!

I really recommend for those of you who have not discovered the magic of circle lenses to give it a shot. I have worn them in every single one of my tutorials so far and I know that you guys will love them as much as I do.

Tutorials will be coming soon (either tomorrow or the day after. I’ll make batches) And yes, I’ve dyed my hair a medium, red-toned brown for those of you who noticed.

Ooh You're A Cool Cat

Wahhhhhh. I've missed you guys soo so much. School has really hit me hard. Since some of you asked, I am majoring in Mathematics - specifically Actuarial Sciencea meaning I have to take a whole bunch of crazy second year math courses in first year so I'm pretty much dying. It's nice to be so busy but at the same time I'm finding it hard to keep up with things I loved doing like blogspot and tutorials. But I am starting to get a handle on time management so videos and blogging will be back ... just not as frequent as before.

Anywhoo. Back on topic. HAPPY HALLOWEEN my lovelies! I was a cat as you can probably tell (hopefully ?) and I just curled my hair and teased it to make a little more messy. And the photo of me to the right is me with the Harajuku Lover perfumes that I won from Miss Queenie's Contest ! <3 Thank you guys soo much for all the love and support, totally made me feel all warm and bubbly inside <3

But since I'm such a huge fan of short, curly, voluminous bobs I ended up going out for the night with this hairstyle (click to enlarge). I'm actually finding it really hard to decide whether I prefer long or short hair on me. But honestly, I think I'm leaning towards short. And yes, I wore a satin, black Madonna dress.

What have you guys been up to? For Halloween? And what do you guys think of me cutting my hair short?

How They Live In Tokyo

This is my entry for Little Miss Queenie's Harajuku Lover's Contest. The rules are pretty simple, just click on the link to her page to see the exact details. I knew I had to enter this contest because I've always been attracted to the "love" doll's hair and makeup. So here is my entry. (My mom said I looked like a geisha) .

I kind of went all out on this one. I didn't have 4 of the same sized, colored heart accessories so I actually had to make them out of cardboard, tissue paper and PVA glue. Good fun. Totally brought me back to my Art Attack days. Hahahaha and I slapped on layers of my winter foundation to make myself more NC15~20. And to conceal my uber pigmented lips I pulled out my colour corrector :D.

I know this is kind of last minute, but I really do hope some of you guys will be inspired to enter as well! It was so much fun.

Tutorial: Braided Side Ponytail

I officially suck. I'm sorry I've abandoned you guys for so long. I've been away on vacation and what not and I've been sick in bed for the past week or so. I've completely lost my beautiful (not) voice and I haven't really felt energized enough to do anything.

This is my latest (even though it's like 3 weeks old) tutorial and it was requested by another lovely youtube-er. It was a look that Debby Ryan worn on the red carpet and it's just basically a braided side ponytail. Lots of looks planned and will be recorded the moment I recover. Enjoy for now <3

This is like the sickest I've ever been ... ever. I was sick before I got on the plane to fly home and my dad told me to catch the next plane out but no, I was stupid and decided to put myself through the 2 hours of hell. During which, I coughed and sneezed my guts out. I felt terrible for the people sitting around me.

And I actually had a few hours when I felt "funny". I couldn't describe it other that that it kind of felt like my mom gave me too many Tylenols but I was tripping all over the place and it looked like I was suddenly farther away from the ground.

Weird.

Tutorial: Cute Girly Half Up Side Bun

This was requested 3~4 times so it was a must do for me. It's the messy, half up, side bun that Sooyoung (SNSD) wore on their Kissing You album cover. It's just a girly, spunky side bun with loose curls falling down. It's adorable for outings or even for back to school.

I love doing this look when I'm going out for the day because it makes me feel so much girlier than I actually am. HAHAHA and please stare in awe at my earrings. They're awesometastic no? My boss bought them for me on her trip to Egypt, but my friends say that it looks like something you can find a Pacific Mall.

I do not show how to achieve the curls because this tutorial focuses solely on the bun, so watch either my himegyaru or my girly dolled up curls video for specific instructions on curling. And I just realized that my picture doesn't actually show the back of the bun but you'll see that in the beginning of the tutorial video (I turn and show you the front and back).

Tutorials: Queen Bee Updo, French Braids

I'm still on my trip so I'm really sorry if anything seems half-assed. The two tutorials for this week are: my queen bee cascading waterfall updo and my french alternative / fishtail braids. The first look was something that I came up with randomly and decided to share with you guys. I've obviously never been the queen bee in high school, but this is how I imagine I would've done my hair if I had been :D.

This look is perfect for those of you going back to school and you want to look doll-ed up but also casual on your first day. Hope you guys try it out and enjoy this look as much as I did making it. I love wearing this look at school because it looks like a simple ponytail from the front. But once you turn around it's like BAM BAM KABOOM!

Beni - Kiss Kiss Kiss

Next look is something a little more tricky on the hands. After my alternative braids video was released, someone asked me whether it would be possible to french the alternative braid. I added this challenge to my list. Only last week when someone requested a french fishtail braid did I decide to finally do these two tutorials in one single video. Me being stupid, I forgot to take finished pictures again so you`ll just have to watch out for the final look at the beginning of the video.

For future videos I'll probably combine any requests that are similar and make them into one video. That way I can make more tutorials and hopefully shorten my requests list. Not that I don't love requests. Requests and questions are what keep me motivated and inspired so keep them coming !
